Paprika

Paprika is part of the pepper family. However, its taste is not very spicy. Originally from America, it is grown in Hungary, Spain, the United States and Chile. The powder of the pepper used to make the spice varies in colour, depending on the variety. The colour and taste can also vary if the flesh, heart or seeds are used. Paprika oleoresin is widely used to colour different products, including poultry, sauces and deli meats. It can be combined with ground paprika, as often done with pepperoni.
